Many of you might have seen or experienced it.
Children claiming their bedroom as their own and saying to their parents “this is my room” “don’t come without permission”…
One day my daughter who was upset with me told me to leave her room. She got angier when I did not.
I stood there thinking, “Does she pay the mortgage? Who does she think pays the land tax, the electricity and gas to heat/cool the room? “
Everything in her room was bought for her!…..
Before i could finish the thought, a light bulb went on my head “this is God’s world”.
I live on the Earth that He made, and He provides everything that i need.
I was humbled! I got out of the room quietly.
But I did continue to think about how ungrateful we are to our Heavenly Father.
He gave us the very breath we take, a body that function, strength to do our daily activities.
We don’t own anything. We are simply given, even our own very self.
“Then the dust shall return to the earth as it was, and the spirit will return to God who gave it.” Ecc 12:7
God has promised Noah “while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease” Gen 8:22.
God provides the dwelling place, the food, the heat and cold, the change of season, the light, and the darkness or night.
Do we take a moment and count our blessings and be grateful?
Or, like our children, become entitled and say to Him, ” I am doing just fine, don’t need you!” ?
Blessings.
