Revelation 7:11-12
“All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God,
saying:
“Amen!
Praise and glory
and wisdom and thanks and honor
and power and strength
be to our God for ever and ever.
Amen!”
Revelation 5 :11-14 ‘ Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.
In a loud voice they sang:
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”
Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing:
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”
The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders fell down and worshiped.”
These glorius scenes show the heavenly host worshiping the Lord, saying praise, honor , glory, and power belong to him.
Sometime in the past, one of the angles wanted this adulation, which only belongs to the Lord.
Isaiah 14:12-14 tells us the story
“How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!
You said in your heart, “I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain.
I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.”
Lucifer was
“ ‘…..the model of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
You were in Eden, the garden of God;
every precious stone adorned you:
ruby, topaz and emerald, chrysolite, onyx and jasper, sapphire, turquoise and beryl.
Your settings and mountings were made of gold;
on the day you were created they were prepared.
You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you.
You were on the holy mount of God;
you walked among the fiery stones.
You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you.”Ezekiel 28:12-15.
This fallen angle who wants the praise, honor, wisdom, and glory that is rightfully God’s also tricked Adam and Eve into having this desire to be like God.
Genesis 3: 4-5
“The serpent said to the woman.
“For God knows that when you eat of it, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
After the fall, man became arrogant and prideful, not only wanting the praise and honor that belongs to God, but also denied all he has, it been given from his creator.
1 Corinthians 4:7: “For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?”
The truth is the very breath in our nostril is from God. He has given us different abilities and talents. He is the one that sustains (provide support, strength and nourishment).
Despite receiving everything he has, mankind has been for centuries trying to get the praise and glory from others. Deny giving praise and glory to the Lord.
Mankind works hard, even do evil things so he can be praised as the richest, greatest,prettiest… the list is endless.
But we are thought to have the mind of Christ,
Philippians 2:5″ Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus”
The Lord Jesus has said multiple time, that he was here on Earth to glorify the Father.
We are also advised in Colossians 3:17 ” And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
1 Corinthians 10:31: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
The apostle Paul warns Corinthians not seek other than Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:3″ But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”
We should not work, speak, and do things to bring glory to self but to our glorious Father in Heaven.
Luke 17:10 “So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’
Shalom.
